Vice President begins official visit to Japan

VGP - Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh and a Vietnamese delegation arrived in Tokyo on May 10 afternoon, beginning a week-long visit to Japan.

During her stay in Japan, the Vice President is scheduled to pay a courtesy visit to the Japanese Emperor and Empress, and meet with the President of the House of Councillors.

In addition. she will  attend and deliver a speech at the Global Summit of Women in Tokyo, and participate in a Vietnamese-Japanese business meeting.

The visit aims to promote the traditional friendship between the two countries as well as enhance beneficial bilateral cooperation in economics, trade, labor, education, culture and tourism.

Japan is Viet Nam’s largest official development assistance (ODA) provider and ranks second among 73 countries and territories investing in the country.

Japan is Viet Nam’s fourth largest trade partner with bilateral trade reaching US$ 29.3 billion in 2016 and US$7.5 billion in the first quarter of this year.
