Subsidy for poor guest workers

VGP – Laborers from poor and near- poor households, ethnic minority groups, poor districts and communes with extreme difficulties will be supported under short-term overseas labor contracts, according a circular of the Finance Ministry.

Circular 15/2017/TT-BTC gives priority to unemployed young people, especially those from poor ethnic minority families and poor women.

Accordingly, the beneficiaries will get 100% free tuitions on language and vocational training.

Specifically, they will get VND 520,000 of cash each for every course.

The subsidy also covers food expense with VND 40,000 for person per day or VND 300,000 per month. In addition, each beneficiary will get VND 400,000 of cash for personal things like clothes, bedding, footwear.

Travelling cost is also covered with VND 200,000 per person per course in case training centre is over 15 kilometers away from their houses. In areas with extreme socio-economic difficulties of over 10 kilometers of distance, the beneficiaries will get VND 300,000 of cash for travelling expense.  

Finally, the circular also deals with sponsors for procedure processing costs, including passport registration and medical check-up./.
