Campaign promotes VN’s tourism potential in China

VGP - A programme to promote Viet Nam’s tourism in China will be organized in the country’s Nanning, Fuzhou, Nanjing and Hefei cities from May 11-20.

The event will be hosted by the Viet Nam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) under the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

The roadshow is part of the national tourism promotion program in 2017. It is expected to attract the participation of numerous Chinese travel enterprises and media agencies.

VNAT Deputy Director General Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong highlighted China as one of the key markets of Viet Nam’s tourism.

According to the China National Tourism Administration, in 2016, the number of China’s outbound tourists reached 122 million and total consumption reached $109.8 billion. China is listed in the top leading markets sending tourists to Viet Nam.

Last year, Viet Nam welcomed 2,696,848 Chinese tourist arrivals, increasing by 51.4% over 2015, accounting for 27% of the total number of international tourist arrivals in Viet Nam.
