Top priority given to strengthening VN-Laos friendly relations

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc paid a courtesy visit to General Secretary of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) and President of Laos Bounnhang Volachith and met with Chairwoman of the Lao National Assembly Pany Yathoutu, and standing member of the LPRP Secretariat and Vice President Phankham Viphavan, as part of his ongoing working trip to Laos on April 26.

Expressing pleasure to visit Laos, the PM spoke highly of the significant achievements attained by the brotherly Lao people over the past years under the leadership of General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith.

He affirmed that the Vietnamese Party, State, Government and people always respect and give top priority to strengthening traditional friendly relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos, considering this an invaluable asset and a survival factor for the revolutionary causes of both countries.

Lao General Secretary and President Bounnhang Volachith appreciated the outcomes of the talks between PM Phuc and his Lao counterpart Thongloun Sisoulith, asking the two PMs to direct relevant ministries and sectors of the two nations to effectively implement the agreements and outcomes reached at the 39th meeting of the Viet Nam-Laos Intergovernmental Committee on Bilateral Cooperation.

Receiving PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Lao NA Chairwoman Pany Yathoutu, and standing member of the LPRP Secretariat and Vice President Phankham Viphavan warmly welcomed the Vietnamese leader to visit Laos, affirming that the visit would contribute significantly to unceasingly tightening the traditional relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, particularly as the two Parties, States, Governments and peoples are joyfully celebrating the Viet Nam-Laos Friendship and Solidarity Year 2017.

The Lao leaders expressed delight to see that traditional friendly relations, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries have been growing extensively in all fields, bringing practical benefits for both countries’ peoples. The key projects, including the building of the Laos National Assembly House, a present from the Vietnamese Party, State and people for the Lao Party, State and people, will soon be implemented.
