VN supports 1st global week of road traffic safety

VNGOP – Many provinces and cities throughout Vietnam launched in the morning of April 22 their campaigns to response to the First Global Week of Road Traffic Safety.

Campaign for road traffic safety in Khánh Hòa

The Week is co-organized by the National Traffic Safety Committee and the United Nations on April 23-29, 2007. The main target is to take effective measures to minimize the number of victims of traffic accidents, especially motorists.

In many big cities including Hanoi, Hồ Chí Minh City, Nha Trang, Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu, and other provinces throughout the country, the local traffic safety boards organized marches and parades, attracting thousands of youths, civil servants and local people. During the Week, local authorities will focus on improving people's awareness to observe the Law on Road Traffic; strictly controlling and punishing traffic safety infringements; and impairing the system of roads, bridges, traffic lights, public illumination lamps, traffic signs.
