Lao PM ready to tackle difficulties for Vietnamese investors
Lao PM Thongloun Sisoulith said he has a plan to meet with Vietnamese investors in Laos to seek to tackle obstacles hindering their operations.
Communist parties of VN, Japan hold theory exchange
The Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) and the Japanese Communist Party (JCP) held a theory exchange, the sixth of its kind, in Quang NinhProvince.
On the theme of changes in the world situation, region and prospects of the two Parties, and peoples of the two countries, the two sides shared information and experience to enrich theories on socialism building of each Party.
Speaking at the conference, Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee Secretariat, Dinh The Huynh affirmed the CPV consistently pursues the goal of national independence and socialism and the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, while actively contributing to the common cause of peace, national independence, democracy and social progress in the world.
Sapa to promote development of unique tourism products
The PM has approved a master plan for development of Lao Cai province’s Sapa
According to the plan, the Sapa national tourism area covers the entire Sapa district,
Sapa will step towards developing three major tourism products, including peculiar tourism products, sightseeing tourism and ecotourism associated with resorts. Peculiar tourism products will be accelerated aiming to enable visitors to enjoy the climate, natural landscapes and cultural identities of native people.
Prince William to visit VN
Prince William is scheduled to visit Viet Nam from November 17-18 to attend an international conference on wildlife trafficking.
Prince William will attend the third International Wildlife Trade Conference in Ha Noi at the invitation of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
William, who is President of United for Wildlife, an organization established by the British royal for wildlife protection.
ASEAN Broker Networking conference to be held in VN
Viet Nam will host the third ASEAN Broker Networking event in October, aiming to lure investment to the country’s stock market.
During the event, the ASEAN Exchanges will provide necessary information on the ASEAN link as well as market development of the exchanges to prepare the brokers to be ready to join and trade on the interconnectivity.
The event is under the framework of the 25th Conference of CEOs of ASEAN Stock Exchanges, slated to be held in the city from October 6-10.
Foreign arrivals to VN up 25.7% in nine months
According to the General Statistics Office of Viet Nam (GSO), Foreign arrivals to Viet Nam reached 813,007 in September, bringing the total foreign travelers during the first nine months to 7,265,380, up 25.7% against last year’s corresponding period.
Viet Nam collects VND297.161 trillion (US$13.33 billion) in revenue from domestic and international tourists, up 20.2% year-on-year.
FDI attraction hits over US$16 bln in nine months
Viet Nam attracted US$16.43 billion in foreign direct investment (FDI) as of September 20, equivalent to 95.8 percent of the amount reported in the same period last year.
Agro-forestry-fisheries exports hit US$23.3 billion in nine months
Viet Nam’s agro-forestry-fisheries exports in September are estimated at US$2.5 billion, bringing the total nine-month figure to US$23.3 billion, up 6% year on year.
\According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the country has exported 396,000tonnes of rice, worth US$176 million during the month of September.
For the January–September period, the volume of exported rice hit 3.76 million tonnes, valued at US$1.69 billion, down 16.4% in volume and 12.5% in value, respectively.
