VN, Cambodia to strengthen cooperation in religious and belief affairs

VNGOVNet – Standing Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng had a meeting with Mr. Khun Haing, Cambodian Senior Minister of Religion and Cults on December 3 at the head office of the Government.

Deputy PM Nguyễn Sinh Hùng stressed that the Vietnamese Government always pushes for comprehensive cooperation in religious affairs between the two countries. The close cooperation in this field will make it easier for the two governments to make good policies for religious congregations of the two countries to share experience and further build up their good traditional relationship. The Deputy PM affirmed that the Vietnamese Communist Party, State and Government follow a persistent policy of  respecting and ensuring the people’s religious freedom and facilitating the unrestricted practice of all religions in Vietnam under the national Constitution and law. The Vietnamese Government commits good policies for the religious community to lead an advanced cultural and economic life.  

Cambodian Senior Minister Khun Haing said that the Kingdom will study to draw up policies and measures to strengthen the two countries’ comprehensive cooperation in religious affairs and bring about an economically stable and better-off life for religious followers. Mr. Khun Haing expressed his hope that Vietnam will persist in this cooperation so that the two sides can further promote their long-standing friendship.
