11th NA wraps up 10th session in success

VNGOVNet – On November 29, the National Assembly convened in a plenary session to listen to reports responding to comments from NA deputies regarding a variety of draft resolutions and approving them before closing the 10th session.

On November 29, the NA deputies heard reports about revisions to the draft resolutions to readjust the targets of the project to plant 5 million hectares of forest during 2006-2010; on the program to build laws and ordinances in 2007; on the National Assembly supervision in 2007; and on socio-economic targets in 2007. The draft resolutions were passed with high consensus.

At the end of the working session, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng delivered a closing speech. He stressed that after 29 working days marked with a high sense of activeness, promptness, democratism and responsibility, the 11th NA fulfilled the working program of its 10th session. The NA had reviewed the performance of socio-economic development targets and the disbursement of State budget in 2006; debated and decided the socio-economic development plan and the State budget estimate for 2007; performed its legislative functions; exercised supervision over specialized fields; heard reports summing up comments and recommendations from voters; carried out NA interpellation; ratified Vietnam’s accession to WTO; and decided some other important issues. The NA Chairman highly appreciated the whole country’s electorate, Government, bodies in all sectors and at all echelons, NA deputies and agencies, veteran revolutionaries for their contributions to preparing various bills as well as giving ideas to them and national issues./.
