Upgrading women’s leadership in public sector

By apparently identifying obstacles and challenges which women in the public sector have to encounter, the project targets to reinforce their leadership. Accordingly, a score of comprehensive recommendations will be submitted to the Government.

A group of talent women in the public sector will be granted with master scholarships to study at Cambridge University (UK). Additionally, the program will provide them with valuable experience of policy making.

At the signing ceremony, Deputy FM Đào Việt Trung hoped that this initiative will be diffused, accelerating Việt Nam’s multifaceted growth and international integration.

Mr. Christophe Bahuet expressed his aspiration that through the creative approach, the project will help strengthen the engagement of Vietnamese women in the national leadership.

The project will help 25 Vietnamese leaders in the public sector to earn master degrees within one year at Cambridge University. Six others will complete their PhD program within three years. The US $5-million UNDP-funded project will be under implementation from March 2008 to December 2020..
