Speaking of the Vietnamese Government Office’s (GO) role in making legal documents on WTO accession, Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc revealed that, over one month after Việt Nam’s WTO admission, the GO closely coordinated with other competent agencies in drafting the Government’s Action Program to develop the national economy in a rapid and sustainable way through specific activities, such as disseminating information of WTO; making laws and legal institutions; building and developing different market economic elements; renovating and improving investment efficiency; and raising competitiveness.

To make WTO policies transparent, the GO set up the Government’s Official Gazette and Web Portal, effective information channels for the business circle and people to offer their opinions in drafting and enforcing legal documents as well as revising out-of-dated ones, Minister Phúc said.

He also stated that Việt Nam has conducted many innovative programs to improve the competitiveness of such industries as agro-marine products processing, electronics, information technology, shipbuilding, textile, and footwear. Perfecting the legal environment is always prioritized to facilitate the operations and development of enterprises, asserted Minister Phúc.
