In 2013, the two-way trade turnover reached US$4 billion in 2013 and US$2 billion over the past seven months of 2014.

Russian Ambassador to Viet Nam Andrey G. Kovtun revealed that Viet Nam is named among Russia’s priorities in diplomatic orientations in politics and economy in the Asia-Pacific.

The two nations are making efforts in negotiation of a Free Trade Agreement between Viet Nam and the Customs Union including Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan for an early signing, said Vice Chairman of the VCCI Doan Duy Khuong.

Once the agreement is signed, the two-way trade turnover is expected to reach US$7 billion by 2015 and US$10 billion by 2020.

The VCCI is ready to cooperate with other Russian trade representative agencies to organize bilateral meetings in the future, he added.

The event attracted the attendance of 25 Russian top businesses in science-technology, telecommunication, bio-technology, pharmacy, environment and other industries.
