Vietnamese advised to avoid protest sites in Hong Kong

VGP - The Foreign Ministry on Thursday advised Vietnamese citizens that they should not go to protest sites in Hong Kong (China).

Regarding reporters’ question on Viet Nam’s position on Hong Kong’s on-going pro-democracy demonstrations, the Foreign Ministry’s Spokesperson Le Hai Binh said this is “internal affairs for China.”

Viet Nam hopes that Hong Kong Government would find suitable measures to resume stability and ensure safety for Vietnamese citizens and enterprises as well as their property and legitimate rights there, said Mr. Binh.

The Spokesman added that the Foreign Ministry asked the Vietnamese Consulate General in Hong Kong to take measures to protect the Vietnamese community./.
