Viet Nam is set to organize the ASOCIO Summit 2014.

The event, which is organized by the Asian-Oceanian Computing Industry Organization (ASOCIO), is expected to attract over 700 delegates from nearly 30 countries and territories. The ASOCIO authorized the VINASA to host and make preparations for this important event.

It will focus on sharing vision and development trends of IT and IT applications in the world, boosting bilateral and multilateral cooperative IT relations among economies and enterprises.

Themed workshops and conferences, together with numerous activities to connect commercial ties, are also scheduled.

VINASA President Truong Gia Binh said that the organization represented successfully its organizing plan at the ASOCIO managing council’s March meeting in Hong Kong, while making its suggestions and contents of Viet Nam’s concern into the forum’s schedule.

Accordingly, IT applications in agricultural restructure and rural development will be among main contents for discussion.

This is an opportunity for the country to learn international experience in order to make IT a foundation for a new development model, creating breakthroughs in socio-economic development and improving agricultural and rural development model, said Binh.

ASSOCIO Secretary General David Chang said that Viet Nam’s entrusted hosting was not only because of VINASA’s prestige, but also the country’s IT capacity.

This is the second time Viet Nam has hosted such an event after the first in last year.
