Khanh Hoa looks to maritime economic development

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung has asked the central coastal province of Khanh Hoa to tap advantages and potentials of maritime-based economy, aquaculture cultivation, and seaport services.

The Government chief made the remark today while presiding over a working meeting with the local authorities on the province's socio-economic performance.

PM Dung highly lauded the comprehensive achievements of Khanh Hoa in socio-economic development, hoping that the province would surmount obstacles to become a modern industrial locality.

The Government leader also noted that Khanh Hoa should pay more attention to stepping up poverty reduction, building new rural areas, and bettering the living standards of people.

The local authorities said PM Dung should also attach importance to extricating difficulties for enterprises and speeding up the administrative reform.

PM Dung and ministerial and sectoral leaders also took the occasion to comment on the locality's proposals on seaports, airports, tourism sites, transport projects and resettlement areas.

Chairman of Khanh Hoa People’s Committee Nguyen Chien Thang reported that the province gained a GDP growth rate of 6.6% in Q1; industrial production index of 7.1%; total retail sale of goods and services 13.42%; tourism revenue 25.87%.  

In Q2, Khanh Hoa will take a string of measures to boost industrial production and business and accelerate site clearance./.
