PM meets with foreign diplomats

VGP – PM Nguyen Tan Dung on Tuesday received outgoing Chinese Ambassador Kong Xuanyou who came to say goodbye at the end of his tenure in Viet Nam.

PM Dung spoke highly of the Chinese diplomat’s contributions to the development of the relations between Viet Nam and China.

The Government chief affirmed that the Party, State and people of Viet Nam always bear in mind China’s valuable support and assistance during the past struggle for national liberation and the current development course.

He stressed Viet Nam’s consistent policy of fostering the bilateral ties with China and called on both countries to closely coordinate in realizing the agreements reached by their high-ranking leaders in order to contribute to further enhancement of the mutual trust and understanding.

PM Dung also asked the two sides to settle sea-related divergences on the basis of the agreement on basic principles guiding the settlement of sea-related issues as well as international law, especially the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea and the spirit of the Declaration on the Conduct of Parties in the East Sea.

Chinese Ambassador Kong Xuanyou affirmed that he would always try his best to consolidate the friendship and cooperation with Viet Nam for mutual benefits.

The same day, PM Dung also met with newly accredited Ambassadors to Viet Nam.

In his meeting with Thai Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup, PM Dung suggested both countries should continue to accelerate the bilateral cooperation.

PM Dung expressed his hope that the situation in Thailand would stabilize soon for the development of Thailand and for stability and development of the ASEAN Community.

Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup pledged to coordinate closely with Vietnamese ministries and agencies to boost the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

Meeting with Egyptian Ambassador to Viet Nam Youssef Kamal Boutros Hanna, PM Dung  highly valued the role of Egypt in the region and the world.

Viet Nam will spare no effort to enhance the relations with Egypt, pledged PM Dung, adding that both countries need to strengthen coordination at regional and international forums, especially the United Nations.

Ambassador Youssef Kamal Boutros Hanna committed to make every effort to contribute to the advancement of the Viet Nam-Egypt relations./.
