VN attends aviation summits in Singapore

VGP – Minister of Transport Dinh La Thang led a Vietnamese delegation to attend the Singapore Airshow Aviation Leadership Summit (SAALS) and the ASEAN-EU Aviation Summit from February 10-12 in Singapore.

The SAALS drew the attendance of policy-makers, Government officials and leaders of aviation in Asia-Pacific.

The meeting aims to strengthen and reshape political, technical and industrial cooperation in the aviation sector between ASEAN and the EU.

Vice President of the European Commission in charge of Transport Siim Kallas said the summit marks an initial step in a new era of cooperation between the EU and ASEAN.

During the summit, representatives from airlines, airports, air traffic service providers and Government officials will discuss a wide range of issues including market prospects in ASEAN and the EU, the establishment of single aviation markets, experience of the two blocs, as well as how to remove trade barriers.

At the ASEAN-EU Aviation Summit, Minister Thang will make a speech on aviation safety.
