Phu Quoc island connected to national power grid

VGP - Phu Quoc Island of Kien Giang Province was connected to the national electricity grid for the first time on February 2.

The Southern Power Corp (EVN SPC) has completed the installation stages of the submarine power cable system that transfers electricity from the mainland to the island where most of the power now comes from fuel.

The 110 kV Ha Tien – Phu Quoc cable system started to be built on November 17, 2013.

The event is expected to meet the demand for the island’s socio-economic development, making it a trade center of the nation and in the world.
