Foreigner visitors to VN set new record in January

VGP – As many as 722,000 foreign visitors are estimated to come to Viet Nam in January, up nearly 21% compared to the same period in 2013, according to the General Statistics Office (GSO).

The figure set a record for the January period so far, the GSO said.

Viet Nam welcomed a lot of visitors from China, the Republic of Korea, Russia, Japan and the US.

Up to 476,000 foreigners came to Viet Nam for tourism and convalescence reasons, up 19.9%, while 131,100 visited for business purpose, up 18.1%.

The nation expects to receive 8 million foreign visitors in 2014, up 8% from 2013.
