DPM Minh holds bilateral meetings at WEF

VGP – Deputy PM Pham Binh Minh met with President of UPS International Jim Barber, the Duke of York, Prince Andrew and Managing Director of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Rosler Philipp.

At these meetings, the Deputy PM introduced the country's development accomplishments, especially the Vietnamese Government's crucial missions pertaining to economic restructuring, institutional completion, and human resource and infrastructure development.

President of UPS International Barber James Jay highly valued the potential of Viet Nam, especially the opportunities stemming from a Trans-Pacific Partnership Agreement when it is signed, delivering hope to expand investment in Viet Nam.

Meanwhile, the Duke of York, Prince Andrew said he treasures the relationship with Viet Nam and wishes to strengthen the cooperation with the country in education and training.

Deputy PM Minh proposed the UK side increase investment in infrastructure; speed up public-private partnership and open Viet Nam-UK University in Da Nang City.

At the meeting with Managing Director of the WEF Rosler Philipp, Deputy PM Minh confirmed that Viet Nam will promote the relationship with the WEF.

The two leaders discussed ways to enhance the cooperation between Viet Nam and the WEF in agriculture, competitiveness improvement and information technology.

Earlier, on January 23, Deputy PM Minh received U.S. Trade Representative Michael B.G. Froman to exchange issues related to the TPP.

As scheduled, on January 24, the Deputy PM will join a discussion on the central role of health care in society, business and economy.
