The agreement is expected to help boost trade and investment cooperation between Việt Nam and Hong Kong through creating a clear and sustainable legal  environment for investors.

Over the past time, the economic ties between the two sides have vigorously developed.

Since late 1980s’ when Việt Nam started its renovation policies, Hong Kong has bridged commercial and investment relations between Việt Nam and other countries.

For years, Hong Kong has always stood among the leading investors in Việt Nam. So far, Hong Kong has poured nearly US $5 billion in more than 400 projects in Việt Nam với tổng số vốn cam kết gần 5 tỷ USD, ranking the fifth among over 70 countries and territories doing investment here.

The two-way trade turnover was US $2 billion last year.
