NA conducts first vote of confidence

VGP – The National Assembly on Monday conducted the first ever vote of confidence for 47 positions elected by the Legislature.

The highest positions include the State President, the NA Chairman, the Prime Minister and his deputies, ministers and other Government members, Judges of the People's Supreme Court, Head of the People's Supreme Procuracy and the Chief State Auditor.

Public are awaiting for the confidence vote as it is necessary and a step to concretize the Resolution on Party building which was adopted at the 4th Plenum of the 11th Party Central Committee, Party leader Nguyen Phu Trong told voters in Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi on May 13.

The general public's high expectations for the event has put a lot of pressure on the National Assembly and the deputies. It is time for the deputies to perform their duties to the voters who backed them during the last general election, Le Nhu Tien, Vice Chairman of the NA Committee on Culture, Education, Youth and Children was quoted by Viet Nam Economic Times as saying.

As scheduled, the outcomes of the confidence vote will be announced on Tuesday morning./.
