State President congratulates his French newly-elected counterpart

On the same day, answering the reporters' questions about the election of Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy as the French President, Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lê Dũng said: “We congratulate Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy who has just triumphed the presidential election in France. Over the past years, the traditional friendship, long-term comprehensive cooperation and confidence between Vietnam and France have seen good developments. Vietnam was convinced that in the time to come, this relationship will be further cemented and developed for the sake of the two peoples as well as peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world”.
