VN looks to host 132nd IPU Assembly in 2015

VGP – The Vietnamese National Assembly will strive for the success of the 132nd International-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Viet Nam in 2015, affirmed NA Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung.

Mr. Hung made the confirmation on February 20 in Ha Noi while receiving IPU Secretary General Anders B.Johnsson.

NA Chairman Hung warmly welcomed Mr. Anders B.Johnsson, the first foreign guest to Viet Nam’s National Assembly in the Year of Snake. 

Viet Nam, said the host leader, highly values the achievements of IPU in upholding democracy and its support for parliamentary activities worldwide.

According to Mr. Hung, Viet Nam hopes to make practical contributions to IPU’s efforts and development by hosting the IPU Assembly in 2015.

NA Chairman Hung hoped that the IPU Executive Committee would early make official decision for Viet Nam’s organization of the 132nd IPU Assembly.

For his part, IPU Secretary General Anders B.Johnsson said that Viet Nam has attained numerous achievements in all fields.

Particularly, the NA has renovated and played an important role in ensuring legitimate rights and benefits of people and contributed to IPU’s international operation.

Mr. Anders B.Johnsson sais be believes that Viet Nam would successfully host the special international event and voiced his support for the country on the process./.
