After great efforts of American individuals and non-governmental organizations over the past three decades, the US Congress has eventually decided to involve itself in dealing with the Agent Orange/dioxin legacy in Vietnam left over from the wartime. This was affirmed by the Special Envoy of Senator Patrick Leahy, chairman of the subcommittee, in a press conference in Hanoi on December 17 .
The activities might start in 2007 to detoxify Agent Orange/dioxin at hotspots and support victims.
