The visits come against the background of regional and international integration taking hold in Southeast Asia. As an act of courtesy by the newly sworn-in leader to the common practice of ASEAN countries, the visits are also aimed to strengthen the relations with these countries and renew Vietnam’s commitment to promoting cooperation with its neighbors and regional countries in its foreign policy. The trip will involve discussions on orientations and measures to solidify cooperation on many aspects between Vietnam and Cambodia, Laos and Thailand as well as sharing opinions on regional and international issues of common concern.

The PM's attendance at the opening ceremony of the Bridge will be a highlight of the trip as once put to traffic, the bridge will not only serve Laos and Thailand but also helps shorten the distance between Vietnam and Thailand, facilitating the movement of people and goods among the three countries and contributing to the prosperity of each country and the region as a whole./.
