At the Summit, MoST and IBM, together with both domestic and foreign managers, scientists and IT experts, have reviewed the implementation of three main programs on innovation and creation in 2007.

Those programs include those on renewing research activities, designing a frame for cooperation in innovation and creation, training of services, management and technology; on IT services training; and on assistances for tertiary-level education. They play an important role in forging a solid foundation for in-depth cooperation to realize Việt Nam’s national innovation and creation program.

Attending the summit, Dr. Trần Quốc Thắng, Deputy Minister of MoST, remarked “All endeavors made by MoST and IBM illustrate their strong commitment in supporting innovation and creation for the sake of Việt Nam and its integration into the global economy.”

According to Mr. Nguyễn Việt Hoàng, IBM Việt Nam General Director, innovation and creation are of great significance to improve living standard and business climate. Over the last years, Việt Nam has become one of the most promising investment markets. This was resulted from the Vietnamese Government’s efforts in boosting innovation and creation. As the world’s IT leading company, IBM pledges to bring more benefits to Việt Nam through fruitful projects.

It is said that, on February 5, 2007, IBM and MoST inked a memorandum on cooperation in innovation, research and development. Accordingly, the two sides have shaken hands in promoting skills, designing and managing scientific services, holding high-ranking conferences on innovation, and recruiting task forces in charge of innovation. IBM has widely supported MoST in carrying out its innovation strategy and outlining new orientations for technological transfer, skill development and policy making.
