President visits Sơn La hydro-electric plant

VGP – State President Trương Tấn Sang on April 12 visited the Sơn La hydro-electric plant and resettlement sites for ethnic minority people who gave land for the plant in Mường La, northern Sơn La province.

The State President highly valued the sacrifice and contributions of local residents for the project.

So far, the four turbines of the Son La plant have generated over 6 billion kWh of electricity to national power grid.

President Sang called upon the workers to speed up construction process to finalize the project three years ahead of the schedule to help meet rising demand for power and contribute to national development.

Meeting with the staff of the Sơn La Rubber Joint Stock Company, the President proposed rubber workers expand cultivation area and raise productivity. 

The same day, the leader visited Phiêng Bủng 1 village, Mường Bú commune, Mường La district to inspect resettlement work for Thai ethnic minority group. 

Mr. Sang asked the local authorities to assist the local residents in stabilizing lives./.
