The Vietnamese Deputy PM delivered speeches and exchanged views on issues related to the regional integration process at the Boao Forum for Asia (BFA) Annual Conference 2012 in Hainan, China on April 2.

Deputy PM Hải highly valued the issues raised at the discussion and stressed on global threats and challenges caused by the financial crisis.

All the delegates were unanimous in learning experiences from other regions in the world, focusing on some areas such as strengthening sub-regional cooperation for national socio-economic development, coping with challenges sparked by climate change, food security and environmental degradation.

Issues proposed in the discussions included the completion of the ASEAN Economic Community and Free Trade Agreements (FTA) network and tackling imbalances in development.

The event also referred to East Asia Free Trade Area (EAFTA), Comprehensive Economic Partnership for East ASIA (CEPEA) and the implementation of FTA commitments with its partners.

Participants also proposed solutions to achieving strong and sustainable development at national and regional levels for Asian countries through boosting cooperation, narrowing development gaps, preventing climate change and guaranteeing food and energy security.
