Project to improve government’s management launched

VGP - A conference on implementing a project to build the Government’s visions to renovate and upgrade its management effectiveness was held on Mar. 12 by the Central Institute for Economic Management (CIEM) under the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPU) in coordination with the Swedish Embassy in Hà Nội.

Participants at the conference discussed the goals and contents of the project, which consist of three parts, including renewing the Government’s structure, changing the manner of working and improving personnel quality.

Speaking at the conference, CIEM Vice Director, Vũ Xuân Nguyệt Hồng said the project will help renovate the apparatus of the Vietnamese Government through specifying its role, function and missions in the national socio-economic development during 2012-2020 and onwards.

Renewing the working manner in the direction of raising management productivity and effectiveness is another target of the project, she said.

Director of the Office of Government’s Department of Administration and Civil Services said the Office of Government, as one of the project participants, will start its renewal in institutional vision during its policy consultation to the Prime Minister and other government agencies.

He said he hopes the project will contribute to strengthening the management system as well as increase the working effectiveness of the government in the future.
