According to the Report by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, up to now, 29 hamlets in nine districts of Cà Mau, Bạc Liêu and Hậu Giang Provinces have experienced outbreaks of bird flu. The epidemic is developing very complicatedly and likely to spread out even though no new nidus has been founded for the past three days.

PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng directed the three provinces to locate and quarantine the outbreaks towards extinguishing the epidemic, trying to avoid it jumping to human beings. The provinces must raise public awareness of the fatal virus so that the people can stay alert and protect themselves from the disease. Provinces should be quick to detect outbreaks and take actions to enhance hygiene of pens and farms to ward it off.

About poultry farming in the future, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng demanded local authorities take stronger preventive measures, such as making it compulsory for fowl incubators to vaccinate smaller poultry as early as are 14-day-old before supplying to farmers. He said the Government will consider more funds for provinces and request public agencies concerned to provide sufficient drugs for local poultry vaccination.
