Resolution to publicly deal with major corruption cases

The PM, who acts also as the head of the board, said the recent past had seen significant progress in the fight against corruption, helping to build up the public’s confidence in the Communist Party and Government’s efforts to tackle this vice.

In 2006, the PM directed inspections in some areas identified as prone to corruption such as land management, capital construction, budgeting, and public procurements and the move has received positive response from the public.

With a strong determination to fight corruption, PM Nguyễn Tấn Dũng asked Government agencies and local authorities to concretize the Corruption Control Act into detailed action plans with a focus on developing preventive institutions. He also requested the concerned forces, particularly the Ministry of Public Security, the People’s Supreme Prosecution Office, the People’s Supreme Court as well as Government agencies and local authorities to more actively involve in dealing with major corruption cases in a resolute and publicized manner.

About inspection, the PM identified it as the first step to bring corruption cases to light. So they must be conducted in a precise and transparent way. He ordered good inspection at 25 cases that are attracting the interest of the public. Information bodies need to get involved deeper, carrying precise news and should determine that their job is to help the public supervise the fight against corruption launched by the Party, State and Government.
