World’s leaders congratulate Viet Nam on National Day

VGP – World’s leaders have extended congratulations to Viet Nam on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945-September 2, 2019).

Chinese Party General Secretary, President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang cabled separate congratulatory messages to Vietnamese counterparts Nguyen Phu Trong and Nguyen Xuan Phuc, respectively while Chairman of the Chinese National People’s Congress Li Zhanshu sent a message of congratulations to Vietnamese top legislator Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

In their messages, Chinese leaders spoke highly of the achievements gained by Viet Nam over the past time, expressing their belief that Vietnamese people will continue to successfully realize the goals set by the 12th National Party Congress under the leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

The Chinese leaders affirmed that China attaches importance to, and stands ready to work with Viet Nam to boost the Comprehensive Strategic Cooperative Partnership with Viet Nam in a stable and sustainable manner.

They also vowed to collaborate with Viet Nam towards the 70th founding anniversary of the Viet Nam-China diplomatic relations in 2020.

In their joint congratulatory message, Lao Party General Secretary, President Bounnhang Vorachith, Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith and Chairwoman of the National Assembly Pany Yathotou expressed their pleasure at the great achievements gained by Viet Nam, affirming their resolve to maintain and nurture the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Viet Nam and Laos.

They also took the occasion to show their deep gratitude and sincere thanks to the Party, State and people of Viet Nam for great and valuable support for Laos.

Cambodian King Norodom Sihamoni, Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen extended congratulations to the Party, State and people of Viet Nam for their great achievements under the sound leadership of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, which have contributed to raising its position in the region and the world.

The Cambodian leaders congratulated Viet Nam upon winning a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council for the tenure 2020-2021.

They affirmed their resolve to ceaselessly nurture the bilateral ties for the benefits of the two countries and for peace, cooperation and prosperity in the region.

In their congratulatory messages, President of Cuba´s Councils of State and Ministers Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and First Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba Raul Castro Ruz extended best wishes to senior Vietnamese leaders.

They expressed their belief that both countries will continue accelerating and broadening the Viet Nam-Cuba relationship.

Russian President V. Putin, Prime Minister D. Medvedev, Chairwoman of the Federation Council V. Matvienko, and Chairman of the State Duma V. Volodin highly valued the traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Russia, which is advancing both in depth and width.

The Russian leaders expressed their belief that activities within the Viet Nam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Viet Nam in 2019-2020 will create new impetus for strengthening the Viet Nam-Russia ties in both bilateral and multilateral frameworks for the benefits of the two sides.

Congratulations from ASEAN countries

Singaporean President Halimah Yacob and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong have sent congratulatory messages to Vietnamese Party General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, respectively.

In their messages, the Singapore leaders highlighted that Viet Nam has made great leaps forwards over the past years, turning Viet Nam into one of the fastest-growing economies in the region and one of the top attractive destinations for foreign investment.

The Singapore leaders showed their pleasure that Viet Nam and Singapore established strategic partnership based on solid foundation of close political ties.

They committed to supporting and working closely with Viet Nam as the country will undertake the ASEAN Chairmanship in 2020 and the non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council in the tenure 2020-2021.

Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha expressed his pleasure that the Viet Nam-Thailand relationship has been ceaselessly consolidated on the basis of their joint vision and interests, in his congratulatory message sent to Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

Prayut reaffirmed his resolve to continue close cooperation with Viet Nam to further deepen the bilateral ties for the development in respective countries and for the common benefits of the whole region.

President U Win Myint of Myanmar, State Councilor Daw Aung San Su Ki, Vice Presidents U Myint Swe and Henry Van Thio highly valued the comprehensive partnership between Viet Nam and Myanmar, saying that the bilateral ties have been ceaselessly consolidated over the past time.

They expressed their belief that the bilateral ties will be further enhanced in the time to come, for the benefits of the two countries and for peace and stability in the region as well as for solidarity and unity in ASEAN.

On the occasion, Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi, Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn,  Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla, Singaporean Minister of Foreign Affairs Vivian Balakrishnan, Thai Minister of Foreign Affairs Don Pramudwinai, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Myanmar U Kyaw also extended congratulations to Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh./.
