State President Tran Dai Quang receives leaving ambassadors

State President Tran Dai Quang on June 22 hosted the Ambassadors of Argentina and Myanmar who came to bid farewell to the President at the end of their tenure in Viet Nam.

Receiving Argentine Ambassador Claudio Ricardo Gutierrez, the President appreciated the ambassador’s contributions to boosting the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

In his reception for Myanmar Ambassador Win Hlaing, State President Quang thanked the Myanmar government for creating favorable conditions for Vietnamese companies to do business in Myanmar and emphasized that there is potential for bilateral cooperation in agriculture and tourism.

PM asks for quality guidance documents on laws

The Government members on June 23 discussed issues related to regulations and procedures on business operation at the Government session on law building, which was chaired by PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

They agreed to ensure the progress and the quality of the establishment and issuance of guidance documents on laws and ordinances which will come into effect from July 1, 2016, especially documents related to the Law on Investment and the Law on Enterprises.

Speaking at the meeting, PM Phuc hailed efforts of ministries and agencies in institutional establishment, including the establishment of  documents guiding the implementation of laws taking effect from July 1.

PM requests promoting VN-Cambodia cooperation mechanisms

PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc has requested promoting the Viet Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation mechanism and the conference on cooperation and development among Vietnamese and Cambodian border provinces.

Hosting a reception in Ha Noi on June 22 for Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation PrakSokhon, Phuc expressed his delight at the regular exchange of all-level visits, extended links across the fields of trade, investment and tourism and vibrant cooperation between ministries, agencies and localities of Viet Nam and Cambodia.

The host urged increasing cooperation between the two countries in multilateral frameworks, particularly the ASEAN, noting his hope that Cambodia would continue to express its stance together with ASEAN member states on the East Sea issue, with a view to consolidating ASEAN’s role in regional security as well as the ASEAN Community.

DPM orders to double effort in CASA-212 crew search

Deputy PM Trinh Dinh Dung asked for more effort to be made to search for the crew members on board CASA-212 aircraft which went missing in a search and rescue mission.

The Government leader made the point on June 23 in HaiPhong City while inspecting the search mission in Viet Nam Coast Guard’s ship CBS 8002, the Ministry of Public Security’s search and rescue headquarters.

A debris was found about 15 nautical miles southwest of Bach Long Vi Island. The news provided a clue for finding other parts of CASA-212 aircraft.

Central Highlands seeks over VND 115 trillion for transport development

The Ministry of Transport (MoT) intended to mobilize over VND 115 trillion (US$ 5.45 billion) to develop transport infrastructure in the Central Highlands Region.

The MoT will upgrade national roads as well as provincial roads with high transport demands, especially those connecting the Central Highlands Region and the South Central Coast and important border gates.

Specifically, the MoT planned to upgrade 860 kilometers of roads with a total investment of VND 18.382 trillion and other lines in National Roads including 14C, 19, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 40B, 55 and 3,5 kilometers of Ho Chi Minh Road in Buon MaThuot.

VN demands China end illegal activities on Truong Sa

Viet Nam demands China end the illegal construction and operation of facilities on the reefs on Truong Sa archipelago (Spratly Islands) and the organization of tours to Hoang Sa archipelago (Paracel Islands).

FM Spokesman Le Hai Binh made that statement in response to recent media news about China’s construction and operation of some facilities in Truong Sa, including a hospital on the Fiery Cross Reef and a farm on Subi Reef, and the China COSCO Holdings Company Limited’s plan to organize tours to Hoang Sa.

China’s illegal construction and use of projects on the reefs in Truong Sa and its organization of tours to Hoang Sa seriously violate Viet Nam’s sovereignty. These illegal actions cannot change the fact that Viet Nam has sovereignty over these two archipelagos.
