Water fowl incubators to be located outskirts

VNGOVNet – This is declared in Decision 17/2007/QĐ-BNN by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) promulgating regulations on incubating and raising water fowl.

Accordingly, organizations or individuals engaging in the incubation of water fowl eggs are required to meet conditions on veterinary hygiene: eggs must come from the registered producers and be disinfected before incubation; the incubators must have clean water sources, pits for disinfection, and the place to treat dead young water fowl and other discharges; means to transport eggs and poultry must be disinfected; incubation instruments and facilities must be cleaned after every incubating batch. Young water fowl must be vaccinated right after incubation.

Under the Decision, water fowl breeders must know for sure that their breeding animals origin from by the registered providers. They must not raise water fowl with other domestic animals simultaneously. They are required to fully observe the stipulations on H5N1 vaccination for water fowl. The livestock farms must be separated from public places to ensure biological safety.

Water fowl breeder must register with communal-level People’s Committees and is issued freely a wandering duck breeding register in the form fixed by the MARD. Whenever driving his flocks to a new commune, the breeder must present this register to the People’s Committee for confirmation, monitoring and vaccination.
