State President Nguyễn Minh Triết yesterday in Hồ Chí Minh City made the remark while warmly welcoming delegates to the WEF on East Asia 2010.

The Vietnamese Head of State expressed his delight that the event has shown the world’s interest in Asia, East Asia and Việt Nam in particular.

Việt Nam is determined to integrate into the world economy and spares no effort to boost internal economic growth for common development in East Asia and Asia, said State President Triết.

Like other regional countries, according to the State President, Việt Nam always attaches importance to boosting economic growth on a par with the development of culture, society, human resources and environment.

Specifically, Việt Nam has endorsed numerous policies to fulfill the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) ahead of schedule; bolster food production in an attempt to ensure national and global food security; attain higher human development index and protect the environment.

These issues, asserted Mr. Triết, are a basic foundation for sustainable and stabile development in Việt Nam./.
