WEF: VN is still an attractive investment destination

VNGOP - Việt Nam's delegation led by Minister of Finance Vũ Văn Ninh attended the World Economic Forum on East Asia held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from June 15-16. Under the theme "Coping with new challenges", the Forum centered on discussing issues like energy, food security, climate change and inflation curbing.

Speaking at the Forum, Minister Vũ Văn Ninh highlighted great achievements that Việt Nam gained during the past 20 years of renovation, which create new opportunities for further development. To handle the current difficult situation, Minister Vũ Văn Ninh confirmed that Vietnamese Government will resolutely implement synchronized solutions to rein inflation, stabilize macro-economy, and ensure social security as along as speed up economic renovation and serious implementation of international commitments, including those of World Trade Organization (WTO).

All the delegates to the Forum spoke highly of Việt Nam economic prospect. They consider Việt Nam an attractive destination for investment as Việt Nam has a young and educated manpower, big market as well as good implementation of WTO commitments.

At the sideline of the Forum, Minister Vũ Văn Ninh asked President of WEF Klaus Schwab to organize the WEF 2010 in Việt Nam. He also visited some Malaysian giants like Tan Chong, National Electricity and Security.

Also taking part in the Forum, PetroViệtNam, Việt Nam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group and Steel Group had a good chance to develop global business with international big corporations.
