The A4 tender package was funded by the WB with 14.6km of A-class highway, running through Binh Son and Son Tinh districts of Quang Ngai province. The project also consists of eight bridges and a series of sewers.

Implemented by Lotte Group (the Republic of Korea), the project will be finalized after 36-month construction.

Addressing the ceremony, Mr. Phuc thanked the WB in general and Ms. Victoria Kwakwa for supporting Viet Nam in infrastructure construction, institutional building and human training.

The Government leader also asked implementers, investors and competent agencies to closely work with the local authorities on site clearance to finalize the project on schedule.

The highway will help open up investment opportunities in central provinces and ease the traffic overload on National Highway 1A. It also facilitates the transport between Laos, Viet Nam and Cambodia via East-West Economic Corridor to seaports in central Viet Nam./.
