The HUST on March 21 announced the SAHEP, which is worth US$155 million sponsored by the WB and another credit valued US$50 million (including US$45 million from the Official Development Assistance and the corresponding capital of US$5 million.

The university will focus on training and research in key sectors under the fourth industrial revolution including electricity, electronics, mechatronics and materials science.

The project, carried out within five years (from 2018-2022), aims to develop the university to become the nation’s leading training and research center in science and technology and concentrate on high-quality human resources in training and research.

Headmaster of the university Hoang Minh Son said that the investment in infrastructure and equipments from the SAHEP project is meaningful to the development of the HUST.

He expected that the project will create a foundation for such areas as electricity, electronics, mechatronics and materials science to improve their status and make contributions to the national development.
