Vuong Dinh Hue elected as Chairman of 15th Legislature

VGP – Vuong Dinh Hue was elected as the Chairman of the 15th-tenure National Assembly at the first working session on July 20 with 100 percent of the votes cast by 475 deputies.

Taking the oath of office before the National Assembly as defined by the 2013 Constitution, Vuong pledged to stay loyal to the nation, the people and the Constitution of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam.

He also promised to fulfill his duties entrusted by the Party, State and people, adding that he will do his utmost to inherit and uphold achievements of the legislative body over the last 75 years.

The top legislator vowed to continue improving the quality and effectiveness of the Legislature for the ultimate goal of serving national interests and for happiness of the people.

He pledged to strengthen inspection and supervision, promote socialist democracy and the people's right to mastery, ensure human rights and citizens’ rights, boost judicial reform and anti-corruption.

The NA Chairman committed to creating favorable, healthy and fair business and investment environment for all economic sectors as well as consolidating defense and security, firmly protecting independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity and enhancing international integration.

Vuong, born in 1957, was elected as the Chairman of the 14th-tenure NA on March 31, 2021.

He was former Secretary of Ha Noi Municipal Party Committee from February 7, 2020 to March 31, 2021. Before that, he had served as Deputy Prime Minister from April 2016 to February 2020.
