Vĩnh Long to found industrial complex in all districts
VGP - The southern province of Vĩnh Long plans to establish an industrial complex in every district by 2020, and develop a craft in every village, according to the provincial People’s Committee’s plan on developing craft villages till 2020 to boost the local production, export and tourism.
In the
2010-2015 period, the province will intensify investment in renewing machines
and technologies relating to pottery, tile and carpet making. It will also
further develop craft villages which specialize in growing and processing sweet
potatoes, planting ornamental trees and mushrooms, making woodwork, embroidery,
garments, foodstuffs, agricultural and mechanical products, and offering
eco-tourism services.

2020, Vĩnh Long hopes to raise production value of handicrafts in its total
industrial production value to 50-55%, and proportion of handicraft employees in
the total rural labor force to 18%.
