The Government leader set out the vision for the Mekong Delta province while addressing an investment promotion conference, themed “VinhLong – Ready for Cooperation and Sustainable Development”, held in Vinh Long city on March 27.

Among the attendants were Vo Van Thuong, Politburo member and head of the Party Central Committee’s Commission for Communications and Education; the leaders of ministries and agencies; and nearly 800 representatives from businesses, domestic and foreign business associations, and international organizations.

PM Phuc said he was impressed by the participation of a large number of domestic and international investors, as well as by Vinh Long’s development desire and renovation determination through the event.

He affirmed that the Government will continue to maintain macroeconomic stability, improve the investment climate, and create a peaceful environment in order to ease investors.

With many local leaders of the Mekong Delta region attending the conference, the PM encouraged the Mekong Delta localities to pursue green development, focus more on developing human resources, and promote regional connectivity and linkages.

Addressing the event, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, Nguyen Van Quang, emphasized that Vinh Long always creates the most favorable conditions for investors and companies to do effective business.

The province is currently calling for investment in high-tech agriculture, the development of industrial zones, farm produce processing, trade, tourism, and service, he said, stating that investors will receive support from the local authorities in terms of investment preparations, land clearance compensation, the construction of wastewater treatment factories, credit, and transport infrastructure construction.

In the witness of PM Phuc, the provincial leaders signed memoranda of understanding on investment commitments, while granting investment decisions and investment registration certificates to a number of large-scale projects in the locality.
