Vietnamese leaders receives Tunisian diplomat

VNGOP – State President Nguyễn Minh Triết and National Assembly Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng separately gave cordial receptions on June 27 in Hanoi to Mr. Abdelwaheb Abdallah, Foreign Minister of the Tunisian Republic.

State President Nguyễn Minh Triết highly spoke of the talks between senior officials of Vietnamese and Tunisian Foreign Ministries as well as agreements signed by the two governments during the guest's trip to Vietnam.

The President expressed his delight at Tunisia's achievements in socio-economic development and national construction. He confirmed that the Vietnamese State and people always want to cement all ties with Tunisia. The head of State requested ministries, sectors and localities of the two countries to further increase the exchange of visits, so that setting up specific cooperation programs to boost bilateral cooperation.

Receiving Tunisian Foreign Minister Abdelwaheb Abdallah, NA Chairman Nguyễn Phú Trọng  hoped that in the time to come, the two legislative bodies will play greater role in developing the Vietnam-Tunisia relationship. The NA Chairman emphasized that the Vietnamese NA will urge the Government to realize the agreements signed with other countries, including Tunisia.  

Minister Abdelwaheb Abdallah said Tunisia attaches importance to the relation with Vietnam, especially in trade, investment, agriculture and tourism. According to him, the senior leaders of the two countries have had goodwill and determination to enhance the bilateral relationship through many programs and projects at all echelons. Mr. Abdelwaheb Abdallah was convinced that the close cooperation between the two legislative bodies will help promote economic, cultural, scientific and technological ties to a new height. He stressed that the establishment of friendly groups of members of parliament and the increased exchange of visits at all levels have sped up the implementation of the bilateral agreements.
