Vietnamese interdisciplinary delegation work in Australia, Vanuatu and New Zealand

VNGOP – Recently, an interdisciplinary working delegation on overseas Vietnamese headed by Deputy Foreign Minister, Chairman of the Overseas Vietnamese Committee Nguyễn Phú Bình, has paid a working visit to Australia, the Republic of Vanuatu and New Zealand.

The delegation had cordial meetings with Vietnamese people living and working in Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane (Australia), Port-Vila (Vanuatu), Auckland and Wellington (New Zealand) as well as visited some Vietnamese manufacturing facilities, businesses and families. During the meetings, the delegation informed the Vietnamese communities about the bilateral relationships between Vietnam and the three countries.

The Vietnamese communities were gladly to know about the fatherland's recent socio-economic achievements and proud of Vietnam's increased status in the region and the world. They expressed their wish that the Party and State will pay greater attention to overseas Vietnamese, especially young generation born and grown up abroad, and support them in maintaining linkages with the country, integrating into the local communities while preserving traditional cultural identities, teaching Vietnamese for children. Vietnamese intellectuals and businesses working in these countries also showed their hope to have more chances to do business in the fatherland.

The Vietnamese delegation also met and worked with many governmental officials and local authorities of the three countries to discuss on Vietnamese communities, bilateral relationships and other issues of common concern.

The leaders of the hosting countries all highly appreciated Vietnamese communities' contributions to the prosperity of each country as well as to the deepened cooperation and friendship between Vietnam and these countries. They confirmed to help Vietnamese communities integrate in the local society, preserve cultural identities and maintain links to the fatherland.
