Some 130 Vietnamese enterprises operating in the fields of agriculture, seafood, forestry, handicraft, building materials, garment and footwear, in 16 cities and provinces, are participating in the event.

After the fair, the enterprises will do some business activities in Moscow and other localities in Russian as well as the neighboring countries.

During the fair, a seminar entitled “Việt Nam – Trade and Agriculture Investment Opportunities” will be jointly held by the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIT) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, followed by a banquet introducing Vietnamese typical food and drinks.

According to the MIT’s European Market Department, the two-way trade turnover between Việt Nam and Russia reached US $1.6 billion in 2008, up 62.4% against 2007.

Việt Nam earned US $671.9 million last year from exporting goods, including garments, footwear, farm products, seafood and handicrafts, to Russia.

The two-way trade value is estimated to surge to US $2 billion in 2009, US $3 billion in 2010 and US $10 billion in 2020.
