At the meeting, they were delighted with the close coordination and effective realization of the Committee’s work.

The two-way trade value witnessed a sharp increase of 28.6% against the previous year, reaching US$4.57 billion in 2018.

The two sides are expecting to raise the bilateral trade value to US$10 billion by 2020.

These achievements have paved the way for the two sides to tackle obstacles and create most favorable conditions for their enterprises, they said.

The two Deputy PMs agreed to ask their ministries, agencies and localities to continue close coordination within the framework of the Viet Nam-Russia Inter-Governmental Committee, facilitating their enterprises to enhance cooperation and investment in advantageous areas.

They were unanimous in joining hand to successfully organize activities within the framework of the Viet Nam Year in Russia and Russia Year in Viet Nam in 2019 on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of a treaty on the basic principles for Viet Nam - Russia friendship, towards the 70th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties by 2020.
