Vietnamese, Lao, Cambodian PMs meet in Philippines

VGP – PM Nguyen Xuan Phuc had a breakfast meeting with his Lao and Cambodian counterparts Thongloun Sisoulith and Hun Sen on the sidelines of the ongoing 31st ASEAN Summit in the Philippines, on November 13.

At the meeting, the three PMs expressed their pleasure at the achievements in national construction and development, the consolidated and developing ties in all fields, which brought practical benefits to the respective countries' people. 

They reviewed the countries' cooperation and the implementation of agreements reached at the  ninth Summit of Cambodia-Laos-Viet Nam (CLV) Development Triangle Area (CLV 9) in Siem Reap, Cambodia, in November 2016. The leaders agreed to direct ministers, agencies, and localities to promote triangle economic linkages; especially in transport and electricity generation; open or upgrade border gates; develop the rubber and tourism industries; protect the environment; manage and sustainably utilize natural resources; respond to climate change and manage water resources; attract manpower in favor of development; combine CLV projects with cooperative programs within the sub-Mekong region, CLMV and ACMECS mechanisms. 

On this occasion, they exchanged and shared experience in cooperation on regional and international issues of common concern and agreed to work with other member states for the success of the APEC Summit and the building of the ASEAN community in favor of peace, stability, and cooperation in the region and the world at large./.
