At the talks, Ms. Ngan affirmed that the Vietnamese State and people expect to strengthen the cooperative relations with Kazakhstan in all fields.

Welcoming the Vietnamese NA high-ranking delegation to Kazakhstan, Mr. Nurlan Nigmatulin highlighted the meaning of the historic visit on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties, expressing his hope that the visit will promote the two nations’ relations in general and the two parliaments in particular.

The Vietnamese leader hailed the two nations’ achievements in such areas as politics, economics, trade, culture, tourism and security, expecting to raise the two-way trade value from US$100 million to US$300 million in the upcoming time.

Both side agreed that the realization of the Viet Nam-Eurasian Union Free Trade Agreement has made positive developments and brought a number of opportunities for their businesses.

Kazakhstan desires to boost cooperation with Viet Nam in agriculture, transport and tourism,  Mr. Nurlan Nigmatulin said, noting  that Viet Nam can boost exports of rice, rubber, coffee, seafood, computers, phones, spare parts and machines to Kazakhstan.

They assented to effectively maintain the Viet Nam-Kazakhstan Inter-governmental Committee on Economic-Commercial and Scientific-Technological Cooperation, and soon organize the eighth meeting of the committee.

The two nations should intensify cooperation and focus on exchanging information and combating terrorism, transnational and high-tech crimes, and illegal immigration, suggested the NA Chairwoman.

She stressed the need for the two sides to soon reach consensus on the contents of an agreement on the transfer of convicted persons so that it could be signed in the coming time.
Legislative ties are an important channel for cooperation between Viet Nam and Kazakhstan, she added, saying that the Vietnamese NA wants to enhance its cooperation with the Kazakhstani Parliament at regional and international forums.

The top legislators also agreed to continue the exchange of high-ranking delegations as well as between parliamentary committees and agencies, while joining hands to supervise the implementation of cooperation agreements signed between the two governments.
