PM Hun Sen lauded the visit by PM Dung, saying he believes that the visit will lift the Viet Nam-Cambodia traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation to a greater height.

PM Dung, for his part, congratulated the Cambodian Government led by Hun Sen for its significant achievements since the genocidal Khmer Rouge regime was toppled 35 years ago.

He said he is confident in a more prosperous Cambodia with a higher stature in the region and beyond.

The Vietnamese Government leader also hailed Cambodia for assigning a delegation led by National Assembly Chairman Heng Samrin to Viet Nam to attend the ceremony to mark the 35th anniversary of the victory in the southwest border defence war and the joint victory of Viet Nam and Cambodia over the genocidal regime (January 7).

He said the delegation’s participation in the ceremony contributed to boosting the friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance between the two peoples, confirming the just cause by the Cambodian and Vietnamese soldiers and people to overthrow Khmer Rouge, the most brutal genocidal regime in the history of mankind and gain a victory on January 7, 1979.

Noting with pleasure all-around bilateral cooperation over the past time, both host and guest promised further support to Vietnamese firms, making it easier for them to do business over the long run in the country. They also expressed strong will to lift two-way trade to $5 billion by 2015.

Earlier, the Government leader met with Vietnamese business players in Cambodia.-VNA
