VietJet launches new flight routes from Hai Phong

VGP - VietJet, the nation's fastest growing carrier will open a series of new flights departing from Cat Bi International Airport in northern Hai Phong city.

April 24, 2015 12:55 PM GMT+7
VietJet Chairwoman Nguyen Thanh Ha revealed the plan during a meeting with the municipal People's Committee.

Accordingly, flights from Hai Phong to Da Nang, NhaTrang and Da Lat will be launched alongside four others to China.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Duong Anh Dien highlighted the progress of the Cat Bi International Airport expansion project, saying that the airport will have a completely new look once it is inaugurated by the end of this year.

The expansion will increase the airport capacity to 4 million passengers per year and 1,000 passengers at peak hours, he added.

Mr. Dien also suggested that VietJet should consider starting new flights from Hai Phong to the Republic of Korea, Japan, Thailand and Hong Kong (China).

Cat Bi International Airport plays an important role in the socio-economic development strategy of HaiPhong city and the region.

In 2012, VietJet had launched a flight connecting HCM City with Hai Phong.

This year, the airline also plans  to raise the number of flights on the same route to five trips per week
