Viet Nam treasures U.S. support for COVID-19 fight

VGP – Vietnamese President Nguyen Xuan Phuc on October 12 sent a letter to his U.S. President Joe Biden to express gratitude to the U.S. Administration for donations of vaccines, medicine and medical supplies and equipment to help Viet Nam combat the COVID-19 pandemic.

President Nguyen appreciated the efforts made by the Biden Administration to support countries in the world in containing COVID-19 outbreaks and overcoming the difficulties posed by the pandemic, hoping that the U.S.  would continue to assist Viet Nam in the fight against the pandemic.

He also expected that Pfizer would soon deliver 31 million doses of vaccine as it had committed during Nguyen’s visit to the company’s headquarters in New York last September, so that the Southeast Asian country could administer to children aged between 12 and 18.

So far, the U.S. Government has donated 8.5 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines to Viet Nam through the COVAX Facility, and granted directly 1 million doses of vaccine and 77 ultra-low temperature freezers for vaccine storage./.
